Types of Airsoft Guns and Rifle
The mechanism that shoot the 6mm plastic BB determines the type of airsoft guns. Basicly there are three types of airsoft guns in the market.
Airsoft Spring Guns
The airsoft spring guns are powered by spring (duh!). I don't there is any airsoft spring guns that can fire semi or fully automatic shots. With the airsoft spring guns, you would need to cock and re-cock the slide after each shot.
Gas Airsoft Guns (GBB)
This is also known as GBB. Most gas airsoft guns are in the form of pistols. But lately there are also sub-machine guns and automatic guns that uses this mechanism appearing in the market. With the gas airsoft guns, you will charge CFC-free gas into the butt of the airsoft guns.
Airsoft Electric Guns (AEG)
This type of airsoft guns uses electricity which powers a motor to shoot out the plastic BB. This mechanism is normally incorporated into machine guns airsoft guns and also rifles. Some also made mini airsoft electric guns which are a scaled down (in size) of a airsoft rifle or machine guns. Of course you would need batteries, normally 4 AAA type, to operate the airsoft guns.
I hope this helps. If you would like to know more about each of these airsoft guns, click on the link above.
